UniversalPegasus International (UPI) has named Meg Lassarat as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In her new role, Ms. Lassarat will oversee the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the Houston-based oilfield services organization that serves the energy industry. Ms. Lassarat joins UPI from Mustang Engineering, LP where she was CFO for eight years and was named the 2009 CFO of the Year in Houston by the Houston Business Journal for managing growth. Nima Ghazi, UniversalPegasus International employee and published author with an in-depth technical and commercial background, has received the distinguished achievement of having a recent work published by the Journal of Pipeline Engineering. Ghazi’s paper titled “Techno-economic Modeling and Analysis of CO2 Pipelines” was presented at the ASME’s International Pipeline Conference in Calgary in September 2012 in association with the Integrated Pipeline Projects Canada Ltd. In addition, his paper was nominated for the Best Paper Award of the conference and was the only paper in the Flow Assurance track of the conference to be nominated for this award. UniversalPegasus International (UPI), a world leader in engineering, project management and construction management for the energy industry, has named Philip Luna as Chief Executive Officer. Interim CEO, Mr. Bob Deason, will remain as Executive Chairman of the Board.
“The UPI Board of Directors is very excited to have found such a well-respected individual to lead our organization into the future”, said Deason. “I have known Philip for many years and throughout his career he has demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, spearheaded improvements in company performance, and championed innovative approaches to meet client needs.”
Luna has more than 30 years of engineering and construction management experience with a substantial portion of his career spent in the hydrocarbon transmission and production industries. He joins UPI from Jacobs Engineering where he held various positions, including Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of Projects and Vice President of Operations in Baton Rouge, La. Prior to his service at Jacobs Engineering; Luna served as Vice President and General Manager of CDI Engineering. Luna began his career with ExxonMobil and has also completed work with Enterprise Products Company and Fluor Corporation.
